No need to rush to the beach with Arthur swirling in the Atlantic. Take shelter at TONIGHT’s weekly práctica at 7:30 PM ($5). Once again the práctica is the only opportunity to tango in the Triangle this weekend, so stop by before you head out of town.
If you’re up to taking your tango on the road, follow the Tango Utopia ladies down to Atlanta on Saturday, July 5th for Milonga Porteña at Daza Dance (3230 Peachtree Road, NE), where Jae will be your DJ for the evening. There’s also a milonga at Taverna Plaka in Atlanta (2196 Cheshire Bridge Rd, NE) on Sunday evening for those who have Monday off or don’t mind getting by on limited sleep. 😉 Visit these events on Facebook for more information.
We promise to be rested and ready to go for the Beginner (7 PM) and Intermediate (8:30 PM) classes on Monday night. We are so pleased with the consistent turnout for these classes and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful faces in the next series. The Advanced class is on hiatus this month, but students are welcome join the Monday night classes to keep their tango skills tuned up during the summer.
Remember next weekend’s Milonga Utopia on July 12thwill end our drought. The theme for the evening is A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the event will feature the whimsical melodies of DJ Lisa Jacobs of Asheville. Dress your fairy best!
