This Weekend in Tango, November 7-10, 2013

The second weekend is our favorite weekend in tango because we host Milonga Utopia on Saturday, November 9th in the TDS back studio from 9 PM to 2 PM ($10). We are proud to have Triangle Tango President Eduardo Lazarowski as our DJ for the evening. His classic mix of music will transport you back to the streets of Buenos Aires. And of course, we’ll have the usual munchies, refreshments, and sparkling door prize to greet you. This milonga is known for its hospitality and friendly atmosphere so we hope you’ll join us.

To get a head start on the weekend, come to the FIRST CLASS of the new Beginners series TONIGHT at the TDS upstairs studio at 6:30 PM ($10). The class will focus on the basics, starting with the tango walk. As the series progresses, new students will learn how to walk with a partner in parallel and cross system as well as lead and follow pivots, ochos, and cruzadas (crossing steps). After the class we invite all newcomers and tango veterans to stay for the WEEKLY THURSDAY PRÁCTICA, starting at 7:30 PM ($5).

Speaking of veterans, Monday is Veteran’s Day and we WILL have our regularly scheduled classes. Intermediate students will continue working with Jae on The Elements of the Cross and guest teacher John Singletary will work with Advanced students on The Art of the Secret Lead, focusing on follower’s technique.

As always you may sign up for these events on the Meetup group and visit our Facebook page for the latest updates and photos.
