Tango Utopia Classes Resume on Monday, August 10th

10348848_740611372673450_8930646360133094020_oOur summer break is coming to an end. Time to dust off your tango shoes and sign up for the new 6-week series of classes, starting Monday, August 10th.

Beginner classes work on the basics such as posture, embrace, body awareness, basic steps, pivots, connection, and walking in cross system. Beginners meet from 7:00-8:00 pm.

Intermediate classes explore various topics (e.g., turns, paradas, leg wraps, etc.) while developing techniques like core strength, extension, balance, and expansion. Intermediates meet from 8:30-9:30 pm.

Students in both classes can enjoy a FREE práctica between 8:00-8:30 pm.

Pricing

  • Individuals: $10 per class; $50 for the series
  • Couples: $18 per class; $90 for the series

And don’t forget to join us at TONIGHT práctica from 7:30-10:00 pm ($5) and at our August Milonga Utopia on Saturday, August 8th from 9:00 pm – 2:00 am ($10), which features live music from Mario Luis Rossi and new tunes that Jae has brought back from Buenos Aires.

Summer Break from July. 13- Aug. 3rd

Hot summer is here, and Tango Utopia is taking a break from classes – July. 13th to August. 3rd. We’re coming back on August. 10th for new series of classes. We hope everybody has an amazing summer time and hope to see you all back in August.

Practica will be on during this time, don’t miss to practice your tango skills.

Register Now for Workshop with Tomás Howlin & Karen Jaffe

Registration for the weekend workshop with Tomás Howlin & Karen Jaffe is NOW open. The workshop is held on Friday, September 11 – Sunday, September 13, 2015. All classes and milongas take place at Triangle Dance Studios in Durham.

The Full Package (Friday through Sunday) includes 5 workshops and entry into 2 milongas ($130 per person; $230 per couple). The Weekend Package includes 4 workshops and the Saturday milonga ($110 per person; $200 per couple). Slots are limited, so sign up early.

Both milongas feature special guest DJs, including the maestro himself, Tomás, at Friday’s welcome milonga. If you need lodging for the weekend, please contact register@tangoutopia.com or visit our Facebook page.

New Series of Classes Begins June 1st

Our new series of classes for Beginners and Intermediates will start on Monday, June 1st. Classes are $10 per class/$50 for the series for individuals and $18 per class/$90 for the series for couples. There will be no class on Memorial Day. See our Classes page for more details.

Mother’s Day Milonga Utopia – May 9th

Join us for our May Milonga Utopia where we celebrate all the tango moms in our community. Our DJ for the evening will be the tango queen herself–Jae Grisham. We’ll have our usual assortment of delicious snacks and thirst-quenching refreshments, as well as our sparkling door prize!  We promise to have you home before they bring you breakfast in bed.
