It’s finally here! Our weekend workshop with Nick Jones and Diana Cruz! Festivities kick off on Friday, May 30th with an all-level class at 8 PM, followed by an informal milonga in Studio 5 (Lindy Lab) from 9:30 PM – 1AM ($10). Our favorite guest teacher, Cecil Ho, will DJ. Saturday’s milonga in the back studio features international DJ sensation, Rick Kim as well as a stellar performance by our guest instructors ($15).

TONIGHT is the last class in the series for Advanced students at 6:30 PM, followed by the weekly práctica at 7:30 PM ($5). New series of classes start next week for all levels:

This Weekend in Tango, May 22-25, 2014

TONIGHT’s weekly práctica at 7:30 PM ($5) is the only opportunity to dance tango this weekend in the Triangle. We encourage everyone come out to work on their tango techniques.

We will also continue the series of Advanced classes tonight at 6:30 PM. Monday classes for Beginners (7:00 PM) and Intermediates (8:30 PM) will take a break for Memorial Day; classes will resume on June 2nd. Be sure to sign up for these classes.

This Weekend in Tango, May 15-18, 2014

TONIGHT we continue the series of Advanced classes at 6:30 PM, followed by the weekly práctica at 7:30 PM ($5). The last classes of the series for Beginners (7:00 PM) and Intermediates (8:30 PM) will be held on Monday night.

Tomorrow (5/16), enjoy Triangle Tango’s Third Friday Milonga at Open Eye Café in Carrboro ($5). The event features a free intro to tango lesson at 8 PM and dancing from 9 PM to 11:30 PM. For more information, visit the Triangle Tango website.

This Weekend in Tango, May 8-11, 2014

This weekend is our favorite weekend in tango because we host Milonga Utopia on Saturday, May 10th from 9 PM to 2 AM ($10). We will dance to the bittersweet tandas of guest DJ, Tetsuo Nishihara who is graduating with his MBA and moving on to a new job in Connecticut. We will have our usual yummy munchies and sparkling door prize, too. Join us as we bid congratulations and farewell to our dear friend in Tango Utopia style.

TONIGHT begins the new series of Advanced classes at 6:30 PM, followed by the weekly práctica at 7:30 PM ($5). On Monday, we continue our classes for Beginners (7:00 PM) and Intermediates (8:30 PM). All classes take place in the upstairs studio at Triangle Dance Studios.

This Weekend in Tango, May 1-4, 2014

Happy May Day! We’ll start our celebration of Spring this weekend in the usual fashion at TONIGHT’s Advanced class at 6:30 PM, followed by the weekly práctica at 7:30 PM ($5).

We hope to see you tomorrow (5/2) at Triangle Tango’s First Outdoor Milonga at Lichtin Plaza in front of the Duke Energy Performing Arts Center in downtown Raleigh (Cost: $5). Our favorite guest teacher, Cecil Ho will DJ from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM as we dance on a portable dance floor. Refreshments are available for purchase at the concession stand within the Fletcher lobby. This Weekend in Tango, April 24-27, 2014

Start the weekend off right by coming to TONIGHT’s Advanced class at 6:30 PM, followed by the weekly práctica at 7:30 PM ($5). The práctica is open to all levels of dancers and is a great way to build on what we learned in class this week.

Tomorrow (4/25), Jae will teach a FREE intro to tango lesson and DJ at Triangle Tango’s Brandywine Cellars milonga. The lesson starts at 8:00 PM and the dancing starts at 9:00 PM. A glass of wine is included in the $10 price. This is a new and exciting venue for the Triangle community, so please show your support.

On Monday we continue our classes for Beginners (7:00 PM) and Intermediates (8:30 PM). It’s not too late to join us!

This Weekend in Tango, April 17-20, 2014

Over Easter weekend, Durham Tango hosts Tango Extravaganza with world renowned Argentine Tango Maestros Alicia Pons & Luis Rojas. This event features an informal milonga on Friday night from 9:00 PM to midnight, and a milonga and special performance on Saturday from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. On Monday, we get back to the business of Beginners (7:00 PM) and Intermediates (8:30 PM) classes. We had a good turnout this week, so we hope you continue to come.

This Weekend in Tango, April 10-13, 2014

Jae is BACK! So start the weekend off right by coming to TONIGHT’s Advanced class at 6:30 PM, followed by the weekly práctica at 7:30 PM ($5). Let’s come out so Jae can share the tango techniques she’s brought back from Buenos Aires.

Of course, this weekend is also our favorite weekend in tango because we host Milonga Utopia on Saturday, April 12th from 9 PM to 2 AM ($10). This is our Spring Fling Milonga where we celebrate the warmer weather, blooming blossoms, dazzling dresses, and the birthday of Tango Utopia lady, Pamela. Our DJ for the evening is Cecil Ho who always brings the tandas that put a spring in our steps. We will have our usual yummy munchies and sparkling door prize, too.

Also, you still have time to sign up for our Monday tango classes for Beginners (7:00 PM) and Intermediates (8:30 PM).

Tango Utopia Classes Resume on April 10th and 14th

The new series of Tango Utopia classes start on Thursday, April 10th with the Advanced classes from 6:30-7:30 PM. This class is for experienced dancers who want to practice more advanced techniques. Each series will explore a particular topic for four weeks. Students get a FREE pass to the weekly Thursday práctica.

Pricing for the Advanced class (4 weeks)
Individuals: $15 (per class)/$45 (series)
Couples: $25 (per class)/$80 (series)

Classes for Beginners and Intermediate students begin on Monday, April 14th and go for six weeks.

The Beginner series (7:00-8:00 PM) concentrates and practices basic techniques such as posture, embrace, body awareness, pivots, and connection.

The Intermediate series (8:30-9:30 PM) is for developing techniques like core strength, extension, balance, and open and close embrace.

There is a FREE práctica from 8:00-8:30 PM on Mondays so that students can continue to work on what we learn in class.

Pricing for Beginner and Intermediate classes (6 weeks)
Individuals: $10 (per class)/$50 (series)
Couples: $18 (per class)/$90 (series)

This Weekend in Tango, April 3-6, 2014

Start your weekend off right with TONIGHT’S weekly práctica ($5). We encourage everyone come out to Triangle Dance Studios from 7:30-10:00 PM to work on their tango techniques.

On Saturday evening, Triangle Tango hosts its FIRST SATURDAY MILONGA at the Lindy Lab at Triangle Dance Studios ($10) from 9PM to 1AM. The hostess will be Tango Utopia lady and tango mom, Suni Yagui, who is also celebrating a birthday. So please come out and show your love for her. For more details, visit their website.
