This weekend starts out in our typical fashion, with the Beginner class at 6:30 PM, followed by the weekly Thursday practica at 7:30 PM. It’s only the second class, so you can feel free to join us to learn the tango walk and embrace and get more comfortable dancing with a partner.
Join us tomorrow (1/17) for the Third Friday Milonga at Open Eye in Carrboro sponsored by Triangle Tango. Our fearless leader, Jae, will teach the FREE introductory lesson at 8 PM and DJ the milonga from 9-11 PM ($5). Our favorite tango mom, Suni Yagui, will be our lovely hostess for the evening.
We will have classes on the MLK holiday, so we look forward to seeing you then!
Students with more tango experience should feel free to drop in on these classes at any point.
See you on the dance floor!
We kick off the new year in our famous Tango Utopia style, with the January Milonga Utopia on Saturday, January 11th. Our first milonga of 2014 features the DJ’ing of our favorite guest teacher, Cecil Ho, whose mix of music always has a little something for everyone on the dance floor. The dancing goes from 9PM to 2AM or beyond (Cost: $10/ $7 for Tango Utopia students).
Before the milonga, be sure to come out TONIGHT to the first Beginner class of the year at 6:30 PM ($10). This basic class will teach tango newbies the fundamental skills of the dance. Students with more experience can join us at 7:30 PM for the weekly Thursday práctica ($5).
On Sundays, we rest up for classes on Mondays: “All About Turns” for Intermediate students and “Brr…It’s Cold Out, Come Closer” for Advanced students. It’s only the second class of each series, so feel free to drop in.
