This Weekend in Tango, April 18-21, 2013

As usual we kick off the weekend with the Thursday night práctica at Triangle Dance Studios ($5). This event is your opportunity to get one-on-one assistance from Jae and practice what you’ve learned in class in a friendly environment.

Jae is heading to Atlanta this weekend for the workshops with Alex Krebs, but feel free to go to the Open Eye in Carrboro for Triangle Tango’s Third Friday Milonga on April 19th. This event features a FREE lesson from 8-9 PM and dancing from 9-11:30 PM ($5). If you’re a little shy about getting on the dance floor, Open Eye is also great place to sip your tea/coffee/wine while absorbing the tango atmosphere.

Then on Sunday, we rest up for the last class of the 8-week series for Beginners and Intermediates on Monday (4/22). The new cycle of classes start on April 29th, so please sign up early.

You may RSVP to any or all of these events at the Tango Utopia Meetup site.

Time To Dance @Milonga Utopia -04/13

Wow!! Spring is in the air and it’s time to shake off those winter time blues and no better way to do it than with the April Tango Utopia Milonga. This month will be a bit different than past Milongia’s, there will be a silent auction of Tango art by Charlotte artist Bill Temples. It is a beautiful charcoal on paper piece and would be a fine addition to anyone’s collection, he will be bringing some additional pieces for people to purchase separately. This month the DJ will be our very own Eduardo Lazarowski and he will surely keep your feet moving on the floor. As always there will be plenty of munchies for keeping our energy levels up but everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite beverage to share with friends. And don’t forget there will be a sparkling door prize for the lucky ticket holder.
Looking forward to see everyone on the dance floor.
