This Weekend in Tango, February 27-March 2, 2014

TONIGHT is the last Beginner class of the series at 6:30 PM, followed by the weekly Thursday práctica at 7:30 PM ($5).

On Saturday, March 1st, Triangle Tango will host the First Saturday Milonga at Triangle Dance Studios from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM ($10). For more information, please visit their website.

Before we take a month-long hiatus, Jae will teach a special class on milonga technique on Monday, March 3rd from 7:00-8:30 PM ($10). This is a great opportunity to become more comfortable and confident on the dance floor when you hear the milonga beat. There will be a FREE práctica following the class. We hope you join us for both events.

Classes resume on April 10th with the Advanced classes taking over slot on Thursdays at 6:30 PM. Beginner and Intermediate classes will take place on Mondays starting on April 14th at 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM, respectively. The weekly Thursday prácticas will continue throughout the month of March at the usual time (7:30 PM) so that all students can refine their tango technique until classes begin again. And of course, the Milonga Utopia will go on as scheduled next weekend!

Save the date – Nick and Diana May 30-June.1st

Nick Jones and Diana Cruz are coming to visit Durham, NC again late May this year. If you haven’t seen them dancing, you should check out this video.

Nick & Diana share, unreservedly, their technique and structure so that each individual student can ultimately reach their own expression in the dance. They believe that the goal of a teacher is to give everything away to the student, while the goal of the performer is to hide their secrets so they can enamor and bedazzle the audience. Nick & Diana do both with fluid ease and grace.
