Dancers of all levels can work on all the techniques we learned this month. We rest our dancing feet until Tuesday, December 31st when the entire Triangle community comes out for the New Year’s Eve Milonga at TDS. Tango Utopia is proud to sponsor this event with the generous support of Triangle Tango. This event features two guest DJs, a fabulous dinner, a champagne toast at midnight, and of course, an evening of amazing dancing ($25). We invite you to join us in ringing in the new year Tango Utopia style!

After the new year, we rest up until the week of January 6, 2014 when classes and prácticas resume. We hope to see more of you in the coming year.

This Weekend in Tango, December 12-15, 2013

This weekend is our favorite weekend in tango because we host Milonga Utopia on Saturday, December 14th from 9 PM to 2 AM at Triangle Dance Studios ($10). This month, guest DJ Alicia Rico-Lazarowski will sweep us off our feet with her elegant mix of music inspired by the Golden Age of tango. Be sure to listen out for her cortinas, which feature a bevy of beautiful female voices from around the world.

To prepare for this weekend’s milonga, come out TONIGHT to either the Beginner class at 6:30 PM or the weekly Thursday práctica at 7:30 PM. Dancers at all experience levels are welcome.

On Sunday, we’ll prepare for our Monday night classes. Intermediate students will continue to use the Elements of the Cross with the milonga rhythm (7 PM). Advanced students will keep practicing in close embrace (8:30 PM).
